Customer wants us to never call anyone back ;)

With my company you can get a call about some new stuff. Details are not important here, just that it is a service requested by our customers. No trying to sell stuff to strangers or something.

Someone called. Without showing the number. He was super angry. We would call all the time and that’s annoying. I said “no problem. I can cancel the service if you don’t need it anymore. What’s your customer number?”
“yeah. I don’t tell you.” “well to cancel the service i need to know who i am talking to. Or else it would be hard to do so”
“i don’t trust you! Just stop calling me!”
“i still gladly stop to but to do so, i need to know who it is I should not call anymore.”
“i won’t!”
“ok. Then please tell me the name. I will look it up and delete the number”
“i don’t have to tell you my name!”
“you are right. But i need some information to find your contact and take out the number if you don’t want any more calls”

There was no reasoning with him. So I confirmed with my supervisor, that i am allowed to cancel the service without number, cause he was so mad.
“ok sir. I can send the number to my supervisor and she will take it out from the list manually”
“i won’t tell you my number! You have the number. You are already calling me! I sue you for harassment! I gonna terminate my contract!”

That was the moment i flipped
“ok. Let me clear this if i understood correctly. You are our customer or maybe not, i can’t confirm that and you expect me to never call you again but won’t tell me who not to call, which number not call and you want me to end your contract but won’t tell me which one? Yeah sorry. No can do. It is impossible to never call any of our customers again, in case it is you, and end all our contracts on case, so that yours is also terminated. I suggest I end the call and you cool down a bit and call us again if you made up your mind if you really want us to end the contract or not to call you about new services and are ready to give us any of the informations we need to help out with this, what we gladly will do, cause it isn’t our intention in any way to annoy our customers with this service ” and hung up.

A few minutes later he called again and talked to the girl besides me, was super nice, gave her the name and telefon and she deleted the number.

Maybe there’s still hope for some people 😉
