So, this was quite a few years ago. The company I was at had a celeb sponsor. This sponsor said some stuff that was…a bit…inflammatory.
First, we had the people who disagreed with the celeb, calling to tell us we were trash for allowing his sponsorship. Then, when we dropped him, we got totally inundated with calls defending him.
I was called every name you can think of. Told they hoped I lost my job. That they wanted my house fire bombed. I’m talking 70 plus of these calls a day! It was brutal.
But honestly, I was amused…the fervor of these people was insane!
