This job makes me more cynical of people in general!


I’ve been at this job for a bit over 6 months now and honestly some of the BS that comes out of people’s mouth, sometimes make me want to scream, cry or laugh and I often think to myself, do you really think I’m so stupid to believe what you are trying to sell me here. Just a few examples of some of the BS I hear every day below.

* No, you didn’t put in your correct shipping address. And you had three chances to verify that your shipping address was correct when you placed your order, but you blew it, and no, I don’t believe you when you say you did change it.
* No, that is not what the previous CSR told you, they did make notes and no, we can not do that.
* And you can ask me the same questions in three slightly different ways and the answer is still, NO, we can not do that. Stop asking, damn it, and just suck it up buttercup!
* No, you can not bully me into doing what you want, just because you want it. It does not work like that and I have to follow process.
* And if you are nasty to me, you can damn sure bet that you blew my empathy down to a 1 or a 0 and I will do the minimum required. That’s all you get from me, asshole. And yes, I have gave the finger to you a few times or whispered out loud after the call, “what an asshole”.
* No, I can not expedite it, because in the world we live in right now, it just doesn’t work that way. Don’t you watch or read any news? And since apparently you don’t, big news flash for you, there are supplier and transportation issues and no, I’m not just saying that just for an excuse. I’m not a miracle worker and I don’t have (whatever it is you want) to pull out of my ass and ship it to you. Stop behaving like a child, and accept it, that is the reality of the situation.
* Don’t start coming at me with demands or telling me what I will do or won’t do and just in general being a self righteous dick. That doesn’t change the process buddy, so sit your ass down and the sooner you accept that the company dictates what I’m allowed to do for you, the easier it will be for you.

Yes, I do truly feel bad for some of you, and I really am sorry that x,y,z hasn’t arrived or has been delayed. If you are kind to me and are not trying to BS me, I will bust my ass to assist you and do whatever I can, and yes sometimes I really do go outside of process in my efforts to help you. Some of you, actually give me a sincere thank you and do appreciate my efforts. Thank goodness for the kind ones, and it’s sad to say some days the good ones seem few and far between.
