So I work at a bank, we have overdraft repayment plans for people who have over drafted their accounts and can’t pay it back all at once, but they’re pretty strict, you can’t go negative while you’re on the plan or your account can be charged off and sent to collections. So there is me, and this member who said she made a purchase almost a month and a half ago online for $500 and hasn’t received the item and she’s been working with the company and hasn’t gotten a refund yet, so gave her the dispute number and noticed her account has been negative since the 27th of April. In between that purchase and her going negative she’s had thousands come in and out of her account, and decided not to pay off the repayment plan that has about ≈$300, and allowed her account to go negative anyways so this $500 transaction was not the reason she was in the red. Now onto the rest of the conversation:
Me- I notice you have a repayment plan with us and your account has gone negative, do you know when you’ll be able to bring it current?
Member- seriously? You guys took my whole paycheck and you’re worried about $180?
Me- Ma’am we didn’t take your paycheck, prior to the deposit your balance was -$900 and the deposit was applied to the negative balance
Member-MY ACCOUNT IS NOT NEGATIVE $900
Me- prior to the deposit it was negative $900 due to a charge at XYZ and the deposit was applied to a portion the negative balance leaving $180 still owed which can result in-
Member-ARE YOU SERIOUSLY FUCKING RETARDED ASKING ME THIS RIGHT NOW?
Me-okay you don’t get to speak to me that way
Member- I HOPE YOU HAVE A TERRIBLE DAY YOU STUPID FUCKING CUNT
