How I deal with creepy callers

I work customer service for a retail brand that specializes in women’s undergarments and loungewear.

We get callers who call in as Anonymous who clearly have a lot of time on their hands. It usually goes like this:

Me: “Thank you for calling RetailBrand, this is Me, how can I help you?”

Creep: “Can you help me with specific item?”

Me: “sure, whats the SKU number?”

Creep: gives SKU number

Me: “Thank you. I see you’re wanting more info on the item . What questions can I answer for you?”

Creep: “Can you BLEEEEEEEEEEP in this item without taking it off?” starts breathing heavy

Me: I am not sure about that, but let’s get your order started so you can find out. I have your phone number here, can I verify your name and email as well?”

Creeper: click

My manager told me to NEVER entertain it. Just be proactive in getting an order started, ask for their info, and they’ll hang up. It works everytime.
