I love those awkward silences after they realised what they say.
Caller rings because they have a problems claiming on our online system.
He literally screams at me,: “Your system says my claim is to old!!!! It was TWO DAYS AGO!”
I ask what date it was . He’s soooooo sarcastic
“Ohhhh Okaaaayyyy , today is the 10th….. 10 minus 2 is 8!!!”
I ask him to read the format of the date out loud to me. (Our system needs DD/MM/YYYY)
Him: “CLAIM DATE …Zero eight zero one two zero one nine!!! Two days ago !! How is that too Old?!??”
I knew the mistake he’d done. The second he started yelling. We always get these calls in the early part of January.
Me:……silence……..
Him: ………silence……..
Me:……silence……but I’m sure he can hear me smiling….
Him: ……….ahhhhh I see what I’ve done…..I apologise for my tone……feel free to laugh about me when you hang up…..
