The British apparently can’t read

Bit of a rant. I work in an Irish call centre for an Irish mobile network. This network also exists in the UK. At the moment there is an outage across Britain on that network. Both our phones and webchat (which I’m on) have been bombarded with British customers who apparently can’t tell they’re in the wrong place. And they argue with us about it! It’s fine when they realise and move on to the UK site, but a surprising number have to be told multiple times they’re talking to the wrong company. The system even asks for their numbers in an Irish format and they still enter a UK number. Then there’s the ones who know they’re in the wrong place but still insist we help them.

Ugh. 30 chats in an hour so far…..
