She Waited 5 Years

Context: I work for a subscription company where you get these collections over a period of time and multiple deliveries. After so long from the collection being over, and us having no stock left, we remove any information from our website.

Customer will be C, and my team leader will be J. I’ll be myself~

Me: Company, Brook speaking, how can I help?

C: Hi! I got your sewing magazine [collection name] about 5 years ago and they came with these templates you could download online. I couldn’t find them when I tried to go to the website it just doesn’t load, have I got the right site?

Me: Uh I’m not familiar with that one, but you did say it was from 5 years ago and we only took over last year, let me see what I can find…

-I search the website and our collection timelines to see what I can find out but we only took over last year, so there’s literally nothing I can find. J is busy so I can’t ask him, so I just put two and two together-

Me: Yeah unfortunately since it’s been 5 years since this collection has ended we no longer have this information, so I wouldn’t be able to provide these templates sorry.

C: Well, I didn’t know I had to download them in a certain amount of time! There wasn’t any end date specified on any paperwork!!!

Me: Well it’s expensive to keep webpages up that aren’t being used, I imagine, so after a while we couldn’t keep the page up. We didn’t originally have a date you NEEDED to download these but it was assumed everyone would have downloaded them by now.

C: That’s unacceptable! Surely someone must have these templates?!

Me: No one in this office at the very least, but I’ll see what I can find out. On hold

J: is free now

Me: Hey J, know anything about [collection name]?

J: Absolutely nothing, never heard of it so we don’t have anything of it.

Me: Yeah I know that, she says it ended like 5 years ago.

J:… Why is she calling in now then???

Me: [Explains her situation, which is basically she saved the collection for after she retired which she just did].

J: Well no one has those templates, and she can’t get a refund either she is well outside of the timeframe for that.

Me: OH I KNOW THAT haha, she hasn’t asked for one yet though…

Me: gets back into call Hi there, thank you for waiting. I checked and no one has these templates still since it has been 5 years.

C: Right, unbelievable, well I’ll be sending all my items back for a refund-

Me: You are well outside of the timeframe for a refund.

C: scoffs Yeah, I realise that-

Me: So you can send those items back but then you’d then have no items and no refund.

C: I can’t believe this, I’ve got other friends who have waited as well as me (WHAT it’s a gaggle of idiots) and we’ll all be leaving bad feedback on your Facebook!!!

Me: Okay, well there’s nothing we can do here sorry since it has been 5 years…

C: Hmph, fine click

So heed my tale, don’t wait 5 years to download something you need and you don’t be disappointed like that.
