I have one of the most common names around. Mostly everyone can pronounce it and mostly everyone can spell it. Sometimes it makes for really weird situations.
Me: Thank you for calling the bank my name is Daniel how can I assist you today?
Customer: Oh I just need you to take a look at my account I attempted to put in a check but it wouldn’t go through.
(All this time I hear a kid in the background)
So after authentication I started to look on her profile and see what was going on.
Me: So looking here the check was declined due to not having the jo-
Customer: DANIEL WHAT ARE YOU DOING I WILL COME OVER THERE AND SPANK YOU!!!
Me: Uhhh… Ma’am we just need your husband to sign the check… There is no reason for that today…
Customer: Wait… Is your name Daniel as well?
Me: It’s okay, Daniel is a very common name…
Customer: I didn’t mean to yell at you only my son.
(Customer disconnects in shame)
