WHY CANT YOU JUST GIVE IT TO ME! IT SAYS ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT YOU CAN!!!

Hello everyone!!! I take calls from many different accounts. In this particular account, we provide callers with certain licenses to hunt. This caller requested his number to hunt migratory birds, which was no issue at all. However before ending the call I always ask if there is anything else I can assist with. Usually people just say no and I just drop the call and they move on with their life. This was different. The caller was a bit aggressive from the beginning which makes me rather uncomfortable and defensive so I can keep control of the call. This happened before I dropped the call.

Cast: AC: Aggressive Caller Me: Me (Obviously)

Me: Is there anything I can assist you with?

AC: YES!

Me: OK sir, what can I help with?

AC: I need my hunting gauge number permit.

I’m like, WTF is that?

Me: I apologize Sir, the line was breaking up (the excuse I always use when I can’t understand the caller even if they said it clearly, but it gives me time to think of what to say next). Would you mind repeating that for me please?

AC: YES! I NEED MY HUNTING GAUGE NUMBER PERMIT.

Me: I apologize sir, unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to assist you with this as we are not set up…

Caller rudely interrupts.

AC: WHY!!!!

Me: As I was going to mention sir, we are not set up to assist with this on this line.

AC: WHY CANT YOU JUST GIVE IT TO ME! IT SAYS ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT YOU CAN!!!

At this point I’m just confused, because I know it doesn’t say that and he is pulling this out of his ass.

Me: We are only set up no provide X and Y numbers and I wouldn’t have any information on how you can obtain the number you are requesting but I can give you the Customer Service number so they may assist you with this.

AC: I don’t need to call anyone else! I’ll just find out how to do it myself. *CLICK***

IDK why some callers think we don’t know what we are talking about. We only do this every day! hahaha
