Missed opportunities & "I waited for twenty –!"

Supporting residential customers of very large internet service provider (ISP), I’d been doing tech support about seven years at this time. Sick of everything, really. So many things I wish I had said or done. This day it happened.

Me: gosh, wait time is almost ten minutes. I hate the endless queue. Thank you calling [ISP], this is–

Asshole, interrupting: I have been waiting for over twenty —

So many times I wished I had hung up at the beginning of a call I knew was going to be awful. I finally did it. I guess no one caught it, because I wasn’t fired. Unfortunately. Anyway, fuck him, because I had been on the phone for seven years. Screw your not-even-close-to-twenty minutes.
