Horror story much…
I’m the newbie at work who always gets the crazy callers and, I am often pretty decent at dealing with them but, today was not one of those days…
So, I’ve mentioned I work at a travel agency of sorts. And, we offer various travel discounts depending on where you go to so, that’s the only thing we look at. Where you entered, exited and that’s all. We dont need to know your business.
When, I get this caller…let’s call her Conspiracy Carrie.
So, I do my greeting
“Thank you for calling [company] my name is corazonsinalma! May I please have your account number?”
So, she gives it to me and tells me her name on the account. When, I just need her to verify the security question, the phone number and her address. Seems like a lot, I know but, I dont make these rules.
She proceeds to throw a fit and doesn’t want to give me her info so, then I can’t discuss anything on the account with her. She finally verifies the information and, begins asking if we have something for no-tracking in regards to the devices our companies use for travel needs.
So, silly me thinking this is a misinformed customer… “Well, we do provide a pouch so your travel device doesn’t read if you’re unsure if there are funds on the…”
“I DIDNT ASK FOR THAT! I ASKED FOR AN ANTI-TRACKING POUCH!”
Now before this, shes already cussed at me for asking for her to verify her info. It happens, I get crabby customers all the time when this happens..
Again, I explain we dont have such a thing and she then goes into a tirade about how clearly I dont know how to do my job (we really dont have the thing she asked for) and, I’m trying to get her to stop to get her off the phone and she just keeps going about how Big Brother is always watching etc…and how I’ll need to look for another job soon b/c big brother wants the company I work ar shut down ASAP 🙄
Shes over here convinced where I work is tracking her every move when, the service doesn’t have that capability at all. While a service using technology, it’s much too old fashioned to even achieve anything remotely like that.
“I AM PART OF A BIG MOVEMENT BRINGING DOWN THAT GOVERNMENT RAAAWWWR! AND FOR SOMEOME IN CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU ARE VERY COMBATIVE!”
Yes, b/c the person who is screaming at a CSR isn’t ‘combative’ and, I love her tone at acting like shes better than a CSR. Plus, she more or less implied shes in a cult so, creepy…
When, she finally stops for a minute to catch her breath, I caught her off guard with the “anything else I can help you with today?”
She kept me on the phone 10 mins too long b/c she nust wanted to complain.
I didnt get to say my closing script b/c she again, basically implies the government is gonna burn the company to the ground and she hung up.
Worst call I have ever taken…and keep in mind, I just started. That said, doubt anything will top that.
