Has many people experienced racism and xenophobia from customers on this sub? Would be interested in hearing from those of us with non US or Canadian accents?
I worked for a big energy company and the nastiness raised its head the second I informed the client of a certain policy they did not like to hear and then would proceed to chastise me and abuse me by saying things like
“No wonder you work in a call center, you are so stupid” or “I can’t understand you” when seconds before there was no issue!
We weren’t allowed hang up even if threatened with death and had to instead advise we will be transferring to a support rep if the customer agrees!
So as you can imagine, a lot of fun productive, wholesome conversations were had….
