I work the retention side of a telecommunications call center. Here a month and hate it.
I’ve gotten miserable customers, but some that stick out, that I’ve had more than once are the customers who think I/we don’t care.
“I hate your company, you guys keep jacking up my bills!”
I’m sorry for your frustration, let me see what-”
“I know you’re not sorry, you’re trained to say that!”
You know what? You’re right, Janet. I don’t care. We are trained robots with no emotion, and I’m just learning feelings. Next time I’ll be the most apathetic bastard on the phone. “Your bill is high? Sucks to be you!” Idiot.
