Customer Service in a Call Center – a Poem

You keep screaming and swearing like it’s

All my fault, like I did it on purpose.

You go on and on, I can’t get in a word.

“Ma’am, I can’t help you if you don’t stop yelling.”

It’s all my fault, clearly I’m doing it on purpose.

It’s not working, the damn thing never works like it’s supposed to!

“Ma’am, I can’t help you if you don’t stop yelling.”

I want to help, I do. I just want to fix it.

It’s not working; it’s still not working!

You’re demanding a rebate, saying you pay too much already.

I want to help you, please let me fix it.

6 months worth of training, but you don’t believe that I know what I’m doing.

You’re demanding a refund, the service is too expensive already.

That’s not my department, I’m just Trouble and Repair.

6 months worth of training; I know what I’m doing.

My instructions are simple. Why are you struggling?

You go on and on, I can’t get in a word.

You feel like you’re entitled to this abuse, the I have to just sit here and take it.

You keep screaming and swearing, now you’re calling me a racist!

“That’s it. I’m disconnecting this call.” Click.
