I work tech support for a product with a 94% disapproval rating….yeah. On top of this, the product comes with a 2 year contract that has a 2 week worry free replacement period although you’d still get charged a “$35 restocking fee”, seriously. The product is shit, our engineering team is absolutely incompetent. We have people who call in who are on their 4th or 5th device, like all the time, where all of them worked for a day and then were bricked.
This makes for some interesting interactions over the phone. People will cry, blame you for things that are completely out of your control. On top of this, the company that contracts us literally refuses to believe us when we tell them how horrible the product is. We have 16 people taking calls for literally the entire customer base, of which half of them are experiencing issues caused by a firmware update that fucked over half of all of the devices, and THEY TELL US THAT WE ARE OVERSTAFFED.
we put in tickets for issues that we cannot resolve, and I swear to god there are thousands of tickets that haven’t even been opened by our engineering team, which consists of 3 FUCKING PEOPLE. 3 FUCKING PEOPLE are programming this shit device and shit service that people have to pay over $300 per device to get out of contract before the 2 year “agreement” ends.
literally losing my fucking mind, constantly looking for another job. I’m very stoic like all of the time, but this job literally drives me to tears on occasion… the frustration is so real. I’m like the 5th or 6th person the customer has talked to all the time, and they have been bounced back and forth by other incompent-as-fuck workers from other departments who wrongly transfer them to us so I always get the shit stick while my corporate overlords hide behind a wall of customer service agents pocketing thousands of dollars from this scam-ass device and admitting no wrong-doing. Fuck you
