ISP call center reps

Just had a shitty difficult customer who refused to give me his information to run a credit check. There’s a way not do a credit check but we need proof of identity and a deposit-

Got screamed at because of the deposit and because “no one else does a credit check” so just out of curiosity for all you other ISP/TV call center reps- is it standard for your company to do a credit and ID check?
