the Non owner of an account called today to try and link a billing system to a view only account.

(NO) Hi, i need to link xxxx to our account so we can process some billing, but it says access denied?
ME: Ok, i can look at that for you..

I gets id number, name, Dob , confirmation answer ( this is like an additional passphrase) . and i also get the billing account ID details to link…she Passes all security checks.

Seeing the billing section has a middle name, i again confirm account holders “FULL” Name…

Me: I need your full name.

(NO)…..silence…..

Me: as in, first name , middle name and last name.

(NO)…Ohh! I don’t use my middle name.
Me: That’s fine, but i need to confirm it.

(NO)….Ummmm…..

Me: This is not your account is it?

(NO): Pardon…yeah….. I just don’t (use,/have?…mumbling) my middle name.
Me: …you don’t use it or you HAVE it??

Me: Ok , Snow….these accounts are not company accounts, they are personal…Is the actual owner of the account there for me to talk to?

(NO) ..No ,shes overseas and not back until XX date and we need to get this fixed before she gets back.

Me: Ok, Well she will have to contact us when she gets back…..

I locked the account meaning the actual owner had to contact us with further security measures in order to make it fully operational again.
