I take reservations for a nation-wide budget weekly stay motel. There are no check ins on Sunday.
A man called wanting to know why the hotel isn’t open, “We’re closed on Sunday.”
“That can’t be right! There’s a woman here waiting to check in as well. She has a reservation today.”
“Sir, my reservation system will not allow me to make a reservation on Sunday. It instructs me to choose a different day of the week.”
Insisting the woman has a reservation, so he should be able to get a reservation as well, he puts me on his phone with her. After we talk briefly, she says, “The Uber driver dropped me off at the wrong hotel.”
I asked her if the gentleman who called me needs to talk to me again. “No.” I didn’t think so.
