NSFW tag just because of the language used… It’s probably not a big deal to some but better safe then sorry.
This man called in to discuss his pricing, and got pretty upset when I explained what words mean. D for drama queen!
D: I’d like to make sure my pricing has changed, please.
Me: Sure! Account number, please?
D: Account number It should be XX dollars starting tomorrow.
Me: Well, it is XX dollars, but it doesn’t start until the 9th.
D: No, I have a signed contract saying it starts tomorrow!!
Me: I’m not sure what was negotiated, I don’t work on contracts, but that’s the date that my system says-
D: It says right here, “prices to start on the latter date of June 9th or the date after this agreement is received!” See! Black and white! It doesn’t say anything about the 9th!
Me: But, sir, you just read out that date in your paperwork, so it is mentioned.
D: Well, yes, but I want it to start tomorrow!!
Me: It says the latter date, which means the later one, right? The later of those two dates is the 9th, so that’s why.
D: Oh, so you guys can just keep raping me for a few days longer?!
Me: …Wow. That language is NOT necessary, sir.
D: I’ll just cancel the contract then, I don’t need this!
Me: Ok, to do that-
D: I’m not talking to you.
Me: Oh. (Assuming he meant he was talking to someone beside him, I wait.)
D:…
Me:….
D:……
Me: Did you have any other questions for me?
D: No. I want to talk to someone about the programs you have to bring me more business.
Really? I thought you wanted to cancel?
Me: Sure, please hold. transfer
I asked my boss if we could take the new contract back, she said no lol. I just thought it was pretty ridiculous and offensive.
