Insane people are regular customers in my line of work (which should be clear by now if you’ve read my previous posts), I work for a a performing arts school..
I am also a Spanish speaker, this is the story of one of the Spanish speakers I’ve had the displeasure of speaking to.
She will be C, I will be R. She was yelling at the top of her lungs when I picked up the phone.
C: I WANT TO CANCEL AND GET MY MONEY BACK
R: I am sorry to hear that Student Name is leaving our school, can you tell me more about your experience
C: SHE HASN’T LEARNED ANYTHING, I WANT MY MONEY BACK
I look at the class attendance and they’ve only attended 2 classes
R: I’m very sorry to hear that but I am seeing that she’s only been to 2 classes. You can expect to see more advanced results once she’s completed more classes
C: I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I WAS TOLD SHE WOULD LEARN PERFORMING TECHNIQUES AND SHE HAS NOT LEARNED ANYTHING
R: Unfortunately, there is no refund due at this time as you’re past the cancellation period but if you give the program more time, you will see improvement
C: YOU’RE ALL LIARS, I WANT MY MONEY BACK. SHE’S NOT LEARNING ANYTHING.
R: I’m very sorry to hear that. You are able to cancel the program and no more charges will be made, but there is no refund due per the terms on your contract
C: WHAT CONTRACT? I DIDN’T SIGN ANY CONTRACT
R: I have the copy of your signed contract here and you had a time frame to cancel for a refund
C: I DON’T KNOW ABOUT ANY CONTRACT. I SIGNED A PAPER WHEN WE SIGNED UP BUT I WAS NEVER TOLD IT WAS A CONTRACT
R: That was the contract you signed, it specifies the services that will be provided and includes our cancellation policy
C: WELL, I DON’T SPEAK ENGLISH. I DON’T KNOW WHAT I SIGNED, I WANT MY MONEY BACK
R: I’m so sorry but this is a legally binding contract , we cannot issue a refund
C: HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT WAS A CONTRACT?! I DON’T SPEAK ENGLISH
R: I’m very sorry about that but you agreed to our terms of service when you signed
C: I WANT MY MONEY BACK, NOBODY TOLD ME I SIGNED A CONTRACT AND COULDN’T GET MY MONEY BACK
I am so irritated at this point because she is literally yelling at the top of her lungs
R: I am sorry but you should not have signed it if you didn’t know what you were signing. This is a legally binding contract. I suggest not signing anything in the future without having someone translate for you. We cannot issue a refund but you can cancel further payments by cancelling per the terms on your contract (which I translated for her)
C: SO YOU’RE NOT GOING TO GIVE ME MY MONEY?!!
R: No, I’m sorry but you agreed to our terms of service when you signed this contract.
C: I’M GOING TO TELL EVERYONE IN HER CLASS ABOUT THIS AND AM GOING TO COLLECT SIGNATURES TO TAKE YOU TO COURT
