I think a good number of us former and current call center workers have been through a mass hiring event.
IMO this is for companies (generally third parties that are contracted for the company you are providing service for) that have a high turnover rate and always has that “urgently hiring” post on Indeed.
The short and sweet of it is, you are essentially herded in like cattle, go through 5-6 interviews and then told if you are hired or not (they take almost anybody). These are generally half the day for the whole event. In my experience these are just a joke and meant to get people on the call center floor ASAP.
