My CALL TIME IS SHOT TODAY, also, Mean People Suck

I am no stranger to hard work. I have worked since I was 13. I don’t mind it. I have done call center work for YEARS. It does not bother me. At the risk of sounding braggadocious, I have a gift for call center work.
For the past year I have worked part time at this job,and only recently went full time. We have strict scripting we must follow when helping a customer file an insurance claim. If the customer cooperates, most calls can be completed in under 8 minutes.
NOT TODAY SALLY!! NOT TODAY!! I’ve had everything from, “Let me tell you my life story!!”, to “Oh by the way, let’s talk about everything BUT THE DAMNED CLAIM!”…I’ve had people who have absolutely NO information when they call in. NO I CANNOT just look you up by your phone number. You are filing a claim on your insurance and it is your responsibility to provide me with the information I am requesting. NO, this is not borderline harassment. It is called being an adult. You don’t know the year, make and model of your car? Find it. I will need it. I do not know it. I do not need to know it is a blue car. I don’t care. I do not know what happened to your vehicle. I wasn’t there. I have to ask. Don’t yell at me because I don’t know. I don’t make up questions for my own entertainment. Old people need to stop bitching at me because they were on hold for 20 minutes. You were on hold because all your buddies spent 10 minutes complaining before you about the hold time.
I’ve decided I like call center work much more when it is 5 hours of my day instead of 8.
Rant over. Soon it will be Happy Hour and all will be right with the world again lol
