Special Batteries

[ad_1]

So I work for a company that does tech support for a major internet and IPTV (Internet based tv) provider. I was having a great day and then I get a call from an old lady who says her remote doesnt work.

I ask what is wrong with it and she says the batteries are dead. I asked if she had replaced the dead batteries with new ones.

She says no because we have to replace the batteries. I assure her that the remotes take normal AA batteries and she can just open the battery compartment, remove the old ones and slide in new batteries.

She tells me that I am wrong and they are “special batteries ” that only we can replace. Once again I advise that any AA batteries will work.

She continues to argue with me saying that she previously took her remote into an office and they gave her a brand new one. This is why she doeant believe regular AA batteries will work. Truth is they probably just did that to get rid of her (judging by her treatment of me).

In the end, she asked for a supervisor because I wouldn’t replace a whole remote due to dead batteries.

Some people….

I have never experienced such abuse from a customer

Lady talking to a supervisor isn’t going to change the fact that you’re wrong
