Owner of my company

[ad_1]

I work for a fairly large financial institution which is a publicly traded company. This is important to this call I had.
At the time I was in a department that handled loan servicing for one of the lending divisions of this financial institution.

I get a call one day from a very irate gentleman whose loan request had been denied, I pull his file and go over everything to see what we were working with. Now, if something is borderline just outside lending guidelines we like to try and work with them because obviously we don’t make any money by denying loans. This customer was far from borderline, honestly one of the worst credit files I have ever seen. I go through his report with him and explain thoroughly the reason why his request was denied, so of course he wants to speak to the supervisor. Well on this day it was me, I am the supervisor which just made him more mad, so he says OK your the supervisor, then let me speak to the owner of your company. In one of my proudest call center moments I informed him that our financial institution is a publicly traded company, therefore any stock holder in our Institution is a part owner of the company and as a stock holder in the company how may I help you…silence…after a heavy sigh the customer hung up.
I did give my department manager the call to listen too, and at the end he just laughed a little and said “well, you’re not wrong”
