Help me, Lord.

Working the overnight shift, this is my last hour of the shift and I am calm, barely have dealt with people, life is good.

Call comes in, wants to create an account with us. Great, these calls tend to be smooth.

Stupid me for thinking that.

Cx: “Good morning, I’d like to sign up with a promotion.”

Me: “Oh sure! May I have the promotional code that’s in the packet you received?”

Cx: “where is it?”

Me: “It should say it under the temporary number, there is a field that says promo code.”

Cx: “Okay where is it though?”

Me (slightly confused): “At the bottom of the page?”

Cx: “I understand that but where?”

At this point I am tempted to just pull the power cable and chalk it up to system issues but I am much too honest.

I mute the phone, sigh heavily and jump back in the call.

Me: “Can you just describe the promotion to me?”

Cx (exasperated): “UGH I WILL JUST CALL BACK WHEN SOMEONE COMPETENT CAN HELP ME.”

God, give me the strength. This is awful.
