I was a supervisor for years and lost track of how many people ghosted us. One day they would just not show up. No call. No show. Nothing. We’d never hear from them or see them again.
It was frustrating but I could understand why. My bosses would micromanage what I do and forced me to micromanage the agents I watched over. I absolutely hated it and eventually got fed up and left for another job.
During my time there I would tell agents who were looking for another job to put me as a reference. I was always happy to give it! It’s so satisfying helping someone escape the call center life.
Back to the original question, though, how common is it for workers to just ghost on their job? Either at a center you currently work at or one you worked at in the past.
