Spoke to someone today who had made a mistake in a standing order (regular payment they control) in trying to amend it in a time that it was already in the collection window.

She knew there might be a problem and so called us to send the payment manually.

She came through to me as after she had called the recipient, they had said it would be sorted, and if they had it twice it would be sent back.

It actually bounced rather than sent back and she got charged.

Not once did she ever ask for the charge back, or complain, and admitted it was her fault to try to change it in the collection window. Never had any dispute or anything else, nor irrelevant complaints.

Damn straight the charge got refunded.

She called to thank me 😍
