Don’t be rude

So I work in medical billing in a call center. Part of my job is to pre-reg patients for their upcoming hospital services (like crazy scan, mri for example). I called this woman this morning and she nearly bit my head off because she just did this crap for her appt tomorrow and she’s fully aware she has to pay the remaining any of her deductible tomorrow. She chewed me out because I told she technically doesn’t meet her deductible until services have been processed by insurance so until services are processed by insurance they will tell us she hasnt meet the deductible yet and that is the information we go by.

Don’t be rude to us. We have the information and we are most likely a more knowledgeable when it comes to how insurance works than the average joe.

Edit: I was calling about a future appt. not tomorrow’s appt.
