So I just had the most confusing call I think I’ve ever received. Even outside of work. (Obligatory mobile alert)
Got a call, start with my usual “OP speaking, how may I help you?” bit. My client was talking about her situation, but kind of repeating herself. Saying something along the lines of “I’m on the benefit, and I’m pregnant, and I’m [so many months] pregnant, and I’m receiving the benefit.” So she asks about who to talk to, and I give her a number to talk to an agent who can actually give personal help.
She says she’s seen so many numbers and it’s stressful, which is fair. To which she then starts telling me about her benefit and pregnancy again, then gives me numbers that she knows because of all these things she’s going to do.
Keep in mind, she sounded like she was still explaining her situation, not just making commemtary on the numbers. She knows [this number] because she’s going to go sing for this event in front of the Prime Minister, she knows [that number] because of the fact that she’ll be traveling to London and Toronto to talk something about residential school surviver, then she’ll be going to a medal or badge of some sort, back to the baby and pregnancy, she’s had health issues regarding a car crash and I think something else happened with that, she suffers amnesia because of a concussion, she’s a widowed, single mother who’s pregnant, and she has something in relation to her grandmother or great grandmother (can’t remember which she said), Queen Elizabeth II. Then she said “thank you for the help” and hung up.
I don’t know what to make of that. I am just thoroughly confused, and I don’t know what in that speech of hers was true or not. But she wasn’t like a Karen, it wasn’t her trying to manipulate me or get things from me, it was just odd, and I feel bad for her. I don’t know what to make on her concussion/amnesia comment given everything else she said, but I think she’s struggling with something… But that was definitely the most interesting call of my day.
EDIT: Just told the story to my mom. She theorizes that the lady was on drugs.
