A question for my fellow inbound call center reps

I’m wondering how much time between calls you get. For the mid-size credit union I work for, we have 5 seconds between calls. We don’t pick up, it beeps and it goes.

I am stuck constantly feeling like “I just need a minute.” but that easily turns in to 3, in to 8, in to 20.

Burnout is eating me alive, and I’m dreaming about places where I can take a sip of water between calls and actually be able to swallow it before going in to my greeting.
