Lady accuses me of wanting her to kill her dog on my very first day working lol

I read a post on here recently that reminded me of this story and I realized I never shared this story with anyone so figured this would be the perfect place lol

Backstory: I take calls making reservations for dog & cat services (boarding stays, play dates, daycare, salon appts, that kind of stuff). Ive been at this job almost a year now, but this call happened on my very first day.

Now, this call was for I think a boarding stay, and happened a while ago so I’ll be paraphrasing obviously lol. Also, for dogs using our boarding and day services we require bordetella, DPP and rabies vaccines. Absolutely no exceptions whatsoever.

This lady calls in wanting to make a reservation for her dog, and they’ve stayed with us before so I pull up her account. I see that the DPP vax has expired so I go over our verbatim basically letting her know we have the have the updated records and if the pet hasn’t received the vax yet, it needs to be done a minimum of 48hrs before check in. This is essentially the conversation that followed this:

Pp- pet parent

Pp- actually (dogs name) had an allergic reaction to that vaccine the last time we had it done, so he can’t have it anymore.

Me- I’m sorry ma’am, but to stay with us the dogs have to have this vax and we actually don’t have any leeway with that policy. This is for the safety of (pets name), and we cannot have him stay with us if he hasn’t had that shot.

Pp- ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! HE CANNOT HAVE THE FUCKING VACCINE YOU MORON. HE WILL DIE. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? DO YOU WANT ME TO KILL MY FUCKING DOG??

Me- ma’am, again I’m sorry. However our policy is very strict on this and unfortunately if (pets name) is unable to receive this vax he cannot stay with us. Now, I would-

Pp- * cuts me off * AGAIN HE WILL FUCKING DIE IF HE GETS THIS VAX. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? YOU SERIOUSLY WONT FUCKING TAKE HIM WITHOUT IT? WHY ARE YOU DEMANDING I KILL MY FUCKING DOG?!

Me- MAAM. Again, I’m sorry but we CANNOT accept (dogs name) if he doesn’t have this vax. Now, as I was attempting to say, you can always check with vets who offer boarding as they may be able to accommodate your pet in this situation, however we cannot.

Pp- OH. SO AGAIN YOU EXPECT ME TO JUST KILL MY FUCKING DOG. FUCK YOU. FUCK (companies name). I AM LEAVING REVIEWS ABOUT THIS EVERYWHERE AND I WILL BE CONTACTING MY FUCKING ATTORNEY AND SUING YOU PERSONALLY YOU DUMB BITCH.

I was so fucking flustered at that point lol. Like I get the frustration, but our vax policy TRULY is for the safety of your pet?! What in the fuck did you expect me to do?!
