I take dumb inbound calls for a big box retailer, and these are those stories
This wasn’t even a call from a customer. Today I had to call the company that provides our protection plans for electronics so I could file a claim for a customer. I am me and PPHEAD is protection plan lady.**
Me: I need to file a claim for my customer’s laptop.
PPHEAD: Okay when was it purchased?
Me: April 17, 2020
PPHEAD: Yeah, that’s gonna go through YOURCOMPANY because they have a policy of 90 days for electronics.
Me: Oh, I’m sorry, I am calling from MYCOMPANY and my customer’s laptop is out of the return window. It is only 30 days for electronics.
PPHEAD: Hm, no it’s 90 days for electronics.
Me: Ma’am, I’m looking at her order right here. It is in big red letters that it is outside the return period by almost 2 months. This now goes through you.
PPHEAD: Yeah…so sorry. It’s 90 days…
Me: What…are you serious right now? I am literally calling from MYCOMPANY. I know what our return policy is and I’m telling you it is 30 days. Why don’t you check real quick so we can be in agreement on this?
PPHEAD: I don’t know what to tell you. It’s 90 days so…that’s on you guys.
I was so fucking frustrated I just hung up on her. How are you gonna tell me what I know?!
