This vendor was definitely not affected by the hurricane (*Sarcasm*)

This customer I had today and it made me so angry. I work at a large retail chain on chat. This Entitled Douche Bag we will call him EDB He thought the vendor who was shipping his item wasn’t affected by the hurricane so his item he ordered was delayed. The said vendor was in GA so definitely it was.

Since it is shipping to the store sadly we don’t have a way to speed up the process. The vendor is caught in the hurricane so they have had some issues getting products out.

EDB:
can they send another product next day? Now that the hurricane is over? Hurricane wasn’t around on August 29th when I ordered the prodcuct

ME:
Yes but between processing times and when it hit things got delayed a bit. However I see the same thing that they are trying to ship it now that things have calmed down.

ME:
So they did ship it the fastest they could.

EDB:
so a week shipping is fastest?

ME:
To the store yes. Ship to home would be a tad bit faster if you were to reorder it as that would be Sept 12th

ME:
But still a week

EDB:
Could we change it to home next day? This is rediculous

ME:
If I had that option I totally would Jamie! However those are the options available and that is the fastest you can get it.

EDB:
ME, please pass me on to your manager

ME:
For what reason just so I can inform them?

EDB:
Item not delivered when promised. Shipping 2-3 days not delivered. Hurricane excuse added 2 weeks to delivery to local HD Store. Not sure what you are getting at?

ME:
I’d be more than happy to get them for you. I do just want to let you know that with storms and such may affect shipping times that is why we let you know a date but it is entirely estimated.

EDB:
by 2 weeks?

ME:
If the roads are damaged enough it can certainly affect it by that much Jamie

EDB
ahg! I’ll give the roads excuse to corporate

EDB:

ME:

ME:
I am still trying to get one for you if you wanted to still speak with them. Just to inform you they are going to tell you the exact same thing.

EDB:
So they can’t ship a belt because the roads are down?

ME:
Since hurricanes tend to cause alot of damage that definitely affects the shipping times to get in and out of those areas.

ME:
My immediate manager had to step into a meeting but I am trying my resolutions team to speak with you Jamie. I am not sure how busy they are.
(My manager informed me the moment I was about to transfer that he indeed was going into a meeting)
