“Your insurance plan is too expensive even tho the parts cost double or better”

So I work for a call centre and the client is a popular home comfort company. I work for the protection plans department and I get daily calls people wanting to cancel because $30/month to cover their Ac and furnace is Way to much to pay and they’d rather pay out of pocket.

Me: so let me get this straight..$30/month (360/year) is too much to pay BUT if idk the fan motor goes for example you will pay a diagnostic fee of about $100; labour chargers per hour as well as the cost for the part (approx $500)…with the plan you pay for NONE of these charges just the monthly fee-but $30: month totally $360 a year is too much….unmmmm
