"You’re ignoring my issue." "No, you’re ignoring our solution."

I work at a University call center in their financial aid dept. I got a chat from this guy demanding a refund for his admissions fee. Here’s his story.

He contacted his advisor. The advisor told him to contact admissions and provided the number.

He contacted the veterans assistance dept. They told him to contact admissions and provided the number.

He contacted our student services dept. They told him to contact admissions and provided the number.

He contacted me via chat. I told him to contact admissions and provided the number. He disconnected the chat.

He chatted in again. I told him to contact admissions and provided the number. He blew up.

Shitrag: “Everyone is avoiding me on this issue.”

Me: “I apologize, sir, I assure you no one is trying to avoid you. It is just that my department is not equipped to refund those fees, nor are the other departments you contacted. You would need to contact admissions.”

Shitrag: “I will call my bank and have them reverse these charges since I can’t get anywhere with your school.”

Me: “Have you contacted our admissions office already? That would be your first step.”

Shitrag: “I contacted my advisor, and someone at the veterans center”

Me: “I understand. I see from your notes that they advised you to contact admissions as well.”

Shitrag: “ok, I will call them tomorrow. I will make sure that i publish a youtube video about my negative interaction with [school]. I will use whatever platform neccesary to document my experience with [school]

Me: ” I do apologize for the difficulties you have been having. Our admissions office will be able to assist you tomorrow. Thank you for contacting [school] and have a wonderful night!”

I’m thinking that perhaps he did contact admissions, and they told him they would not refund the fee, but I do not see any prior cases from admissions, so I’m left to wonder if he literally just refuses to do the one thing we’re telling him to, and is making shit difficult on himself just for the hell of it.

His application fee was $70. From what I remember from back when I was applying, that’s a relatively low fee.

Edit: I couldn’t transfer him because he called in at 8pm. We’re 24 hours, but admissions is 8-5. Shoulda mentioned that originally, sorry.
