I have soooo many of these stories, I work for a performing arts school and parents are always insane.
I’ll be R, horrible person will be C.
C: My daughter has completed the entire program and we didn’t like it so we want our money back
R: I’m so sorry,can you share a little more on your experience
C: She just didn’t like it okay, I want my money back
R: I understand and am sorry to hear your daughter did not enjoy the classes. unfortunately we are unable to issue a refund as she has completed the sessions
C: This is ridiculous, I WANT MY MONEY BACK NOW
R: Let me refer your account to management and they will review your account and see if there’s anything we can do for you
C: Are you stupid, just give me my money back
R: I don’t have authorization to do that, I will forward your information and call you back this week
C: I need a call back today
I was eventually able to get her to hang up with the promise of a call back and contacted my manager to explain the situation. Of course no refund was due, she still had about 1500 balance Owed so my manager approved to waive the balance. So I call her back with the great news..
R: Hi ma’am, management has reviewed your account and although we cannot issue a refund , they have waived your remaining balance so there will be no additional charges
C: THAT MAKES NO SENSE. HOW CAN YOU WAIVE THE BALANCE BUT NOT REFUND MY ACCOUNT?!
this is when I started getting irritated
R: Well we have provided the services in full and no refund is due for services provided
C: BUT SHE DIDN’T LIKE IT SO YOU NEED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK
I wasn’t in the mood to deal with her, apologized that she was unhappy with the resolution and told her I will notify management that she declined our offer.
My manager wanted me to reiterate the terms and tell her no refund, I insisted she call her because she was not listening to me. Sure enough , manager calls her And says ” This woman is crazy, just give her the money back”
