Well, aren’t you special!

I work in a call centre. It’s a small-ish, family owned business, so we managers wear many hats.

I had a customer phone in wanting to cancel an order on a utility services contract. His landlord won’t allow him to have that service.

Apparently he only signed the business contract as he didn’t understand it. And as he didn’t understand, it his signature shouldn’t count.

Said contract was past the end of the cooling off period by a significant degree, and is imminently due to go live with provisioning completed. It’s now too late for *us* to adjust anything.

Apparently he’s spent days phoning everyone else he can think of to get this cancelled since we signed it with him. Apart from, you know, us, the company that he signed the contract through in the first place. The company that could have sorted this in short order with *timely* notice.

Of course, this is all *our* fault, and it’s not fair that it’s too late for him to get out of the contract.

The light at the end of the tunnel

I quit. 7 months of hell working for a health insurance company.
