That time someone threatened to call the CIA over $3.00

Hi folks, I worked on a call center for some time. I am leaving tomorrow and hopeful to share a few stories.

We had missed an item in this man’s order that was roughly $3.00. I refunded him.

He emailed back:

GUEST: That’s not enough. I want more.

ME: I do apologize for the issue. I refunded your order.

GUEST: If you don’t give me (a bunch of free items) I’ll call the CIA.

Because he threatened to escalate it to authorities, I had to escalate it to my manager, so I never found out what happened.

As a bonus, this happened around May 2020…
