This just happened yesterday and I absolutely love that I was able to prove this person wrong. I’m just going to jump into it. M = Me, iKID (I know I did) = the customer.
M – (company name here), this is Preventfalls.
iKID – Hi, um. I sent a package to my father and it was supposed to be there yesterday and didn’t arrive and it hasn’t arrived today and well, um, I already logged into my account with the delivery company and it shows the apartment number wasn’t listed, but I had it on there and um, I know it was on there…etc (more of this run on sentence continues)
M – Ok, we’ll I’m sorry about that, but I’m happy to look into it, do you have your invoice number or I can look it up with your last name? *iKID provides the invoice number* Ok great, are you _______? *iKID confirms her name* Ok, and the address I have this going to is _________ and there is no apartment number listed on the order ma’am.
iKID – Yes there is. I entered it. I KNOW I did.
M – Well, ma’am, I do not show one on the order which means it was not entered when filling out the shipping information…
iKID – NO, I entered it! I looked over it FIVE times. Can’t you pull up my original form?
M – There is no original form, what you submitted is what I am looking at in our logged orders.
iKID – I just can’t believe you can’t find my original form.
M – Well, I am also looking at the emailed receipt that goes out that you also received a copy of to _______ in which you could have checked to verify everything was correct and should have called us right away if it wasn’t.
She starts to sound defeated at this time, but I could tell she really didn’t want to admit that she messed up. The rest of the call is pretty irrelevant as it just deals with what the cost of a replacement will be since it was her error (it’s a perishable good). I did have to send out a customer service email to the rest of the office as I know this one will come back around to us over the weekend or on Monday as I’m sure the order won’t arrive in suitable condition, but I didn’t want her try to swindle someone else.
