Back in junior/senior high I took up freelance online writing as a side hustle: feature writing, top 10 lists, DIY home remedies, etc.
Graduated then got my first actual job: phone support for an online payment system. Took 7 months before I realized their policies are as scummy as the rumors say and I’ve had enough of being screamed at and interrupted mid-speech.
Months later got my current chat support job for a smartphones/computers tech company. It’s been great so far, much less stressful, but I grew to continuously loathe the day-to-day of customer facing. Eventually I realized: I flat out fucking hate being part of BPO industry. Mad respect to anyone still holding out, but this isn’t for me anymore.
I’ve told my boss, no idea what to expect next, anxious but excited. Currently looking at a couple new job options already. Have about a month or two’s worth of spare money to cover expenses.
So yeah, wish me luck, I guess. Y’all fucking awesome and tough.
