I’m still not sure how ones anal glands relate to their oral hygiene…

And I’m not sure I want to!

I work at a call center for a dental company with multiple locations. I work in the scheduling department.

I have SO MANY TALES, but this is one of the strangest…

The other day, a patient called to schedule his preventative care appointment. He is in his early 40s. I typically don’t make too much small talk because our average call-time goal is set at 2 minutes. As I’m working on finding a day and time that would work well for the patient’s schedule…

OUT OF THE BLUE, he begins telling me IN DETAIL about his swollen anal glands and how he’s had two surgeries on them to get them squeezed… 🤢 While I really feel bad for the guy, it was so unexpected to hear such a thing when you’re used to dealing with oral hygiene and dental care.

He ended the call with “Welp, I really hope you never have issues with your anal glands…” I just said oh gosh, me either! 😭😭😭😭

WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SAY TO THAT!?
