He was hiding in his car

I work remotely for a health insurance company taking calls from providers (physician, therapists, those who work in physician offices, etc). Most of my calls are claims. This means that callers are calling in to find out why their claim was denied. One time I had a doctor call in who had a thick accent stating all of his claims are being denied. His claims were denied due to missing taxonomy code (this is a 10-digit code that designates a providers classification and specialization. For this particular state taxonomy codes are required on the claim form and if it’s not there the claim will get denied.

When the provider first called in he just stated that he hasn’t been receiving payments for services he rendered. In order for me to see what’s going on I need the date of service for the claim and also the billed amount. The provider didn’t even have that. When I asked him to look for it he stated that his nurses would have that information but he didn’t want to go inside because they were upset that they haven’t been paid. He told me he was hiding in his car so he wouldn’t have to go inside. Fast forward he ended up calling one of his nurses and we were all on 3 way and they were stating the taxonomy code is there. But it wasn’t so I advised they need to submit a claim with the taxonomy. It’s sad that he was hiding from the nurses but call me sadistic I thought it was a joke that the doctor was hiding from his nurses. Lol the craziest call ever.
