ID-10-T error… Also known as a PEBCAK error…

[ad_1]

I did a few years of computer tech support for Operating Systems etc. I got so most calls I could complete while mostly unconscious – they finish a step, I rouse myself enough to tell them the next step and so on.

Pretty often there was nothing wrong with the computer, it was the person using it. So I’d tell the person “Oh yeah, that’s an I.D. Ten Tee error, which of course spells ID10T. Or I would tell them they had a PEBCAK error and I’d be happy to help them out. “Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard”. I probably used one of these every day. Only one caller ever knew what I was doing, got me to admit it, and we had a laugh together.
