I’m used to people ringing up who ask
what would happen if x happens, what would happen if y happens. often I tell them I can’t answer as there are too many variables and to call back if it looks likely to happen and tell me the circumstances at the time.
Today’s question like that stunned me.A woman asked me, what will happen when my daughter goes to college?Thinking she meant in September this year, I asked where she would be staying.
The woman replied, oh we don’t know yet.
I said she had better sort it out quickly as the flats go quickly.
The woman replied there’s no rush she’s only twelve.
So she wanted me to tell her exactly what would happen in six years time, i was so stunned I sure she heard it in my voice.I told her a lot could happen in that time and to call back at the time she needs the information.
