My Last Day

[ad_1]

After 6 long years and multiple employers, I’ve finally accepted a position off of the phones that begins Monday. The universe working the way it does, this of course means that I will have one of my worst ever callers today. The call began with this dude cussing me out about something that has nothing to do with my department, lasted for 20 minutes, and ended with him making a threat of violence against me i.e. “I’m going to drive down there and shoot all of you.” Since it’s my last day this didn’t affect me as much as it might have and honestly, I’ve gotten a handful of calls like this throughout my six years, so the novelty has worn off anyway. I thanked him for his time and disconnected the call. No one who hasn’t worked in a call center environment will ever understand the abuse we are subjected to on a regular basis. Keep up the good fight. I hope you all find a way off of the phones if that’s what you desire. Goodnight and good luck to all of you.
