I think I’m at my breaking point.

I’m seriously considering quitting. Job is lovely. Team is lovely.

But I want to help people I love helping people, but right now with post covid, the heat…. there’s no nice way to say it… Some people are too stupid to help and I’ not sure how much longer I can do this.

Had a guy call in. Said his remote was not working. Didn’t know what model number he had. (We have HUNDREDS of products) I created a case and told him he could call back when he was in front of the unit. He told me couldn’t take the ticket down because he was driving.

What the absolute fuck are you expecting?! Please, explain to me how you THINK this call was going to go?! Do you EXPECT me to have some magic wand, “Oh, it’ll be fixed when you get home. Have a nice day!” I was so close to yelling at him today… I really want to know what these people think was going to happen.

He said, “thanks for nothing”, called me a retard and hung up.

There’s so many people calling in bitching about the prices. It’s not my fault you bought a Mercedes and its maintenance. You just spent more money hoping that a mechanical product will magically last longer than the cheap one you bought from sears. Guess what? They all rust and wear the same.

There’s even a giant, neon highlighter page that says exactly what the warranty does and does not cover both when the unit is purchased and when it is registered. It’s not long, maybe three sentences yet there’s surprised pikachu face over here trying to ream me out for their utter inability to read and pay attention to what they sign up for.

I can’t wait for my last day. I can’t wait to get that question FINALLY answered once and for all. What did you expect was going to happen when you called in with that?
