I work in a call center for a European e-commerce marketplace which offers a buyer insurance program (if you don’t receive the goods or they are broken we can reverse the transaction).
One of the sellers calls my friend about a refund we made on his behalf to this buyer for a RMA request, but upon inspection the buyer didn’t return the item to the seller but the system still somehow made a refund.
My friend then wrote the buyer demanding him to return the item and even gave him a free return label, but of course they ignored it.
So she forwarded the case to me and I got my manager to reverse the refund manually. Upon yet closer inspection the buyers behavior was very suspicious as he opened many claims at once in a short time using multiple accounts.
So we ended up banning his accounts and all the claims were closed without a refund. He had open return claims over $900 in total, in some he actually sent back the items and now lost both money and goods…
How dumb can you be…
