I don’t think there’s ever a reason to be rude to someone when they’re just doing their job. I *especially* don’t think it’s fair for you to have called me patronising and useless when I was just trying to be helpful.

By the way, your apologies didn’t count when you followed them up with more insults.

Cheers for making a young woman who’s just doing her job end her shift in tears today. As though my mental health needed insults from some random stranger who doesn’t even know me!

And usually our customers are so nice. Guess there’s no pleasing everyone.

EDIT: thank you so much, everyone. The support and advice is a huge help! Part of me hopes that the customer will think back on it tonight, feel bad about it and so won’t do it to the next poor agent they speak to. At the end of the day I did my best and that’s all any of us can do! We are all human and maybe if the customer and I had talked in better circumstances it would have been totally different ☺️

EDIT 2: wow ok this is blowing up more than I thought, thank you for all of the awards and the kind words, you guys really helped me through yesterday. Today is much better and I hope everyone else is having a lovely one as well!
