[Customer] Called Samsung for an appliance repair request, the employee thanked me profusely at the end of the call just for being cordial and patient while she created the ticket. Why do people suck so bad that call center employees feel they have to thank you just for being a decent human being?

I did work for a call center at one point (medical) so I am generally very patient and kind when I have to make these calls (and I only do it when I actually have time to hold, etc) because I know people have procedures they have to follow in order to help someone so I get it, I just don’t get why people are so terrible this poor women felt the need to thank me just for being polite.
